Blackboard and Course Reserves for Students

Information for Faculty about Blackboard and Reserves is available here.

Blackboard for Students

Blackboard is the Course Management System used at Emory. It is a vehicle for document distribution (including syllabi, assignments, and E-reserves), communication, submitting finished work, and personal portfolio storage. The URL for Blackboard at Emory is http://classes.emory.edu.

OPUS (registration system) automatically lists any courses for which you are registered as long as the professor has made it available in Blackboard.

Check your personal information using the 'Verify Personal Info' link, in the 'Important Links' box, on the "My Home" tab. The "Help" tab shows frequently asked questions and several tutorials.

If you need more help contact Matthew Collins at mscolli@emory.edu or 404.727.1218.

Reserves for Students

ReservesDirect is a reserves management system created by Emory University Libraries. Not all faculty use reserves in any form or ReservesDirect. However, most electronic reserves (journal articles or sections from books) will likely be found on the ReservesDirect site.

Log in using your net ID and password. Once logged in, your courses with reserves will appear. Click on the hyperlink to enter a course and view the reserve list.

Book reserves for Candler School of Theology courses are located in the back of the Durham Reading Room, shelved under the requesting professors name. They are only available for check out one hour before closing and are due back to the library one hour after opening the next day. Fines for reserve items accrue at $1.00 per hour.

If you have questions or concerns regarding book or electronic reserves or using ReservesDirect, please contact Jenny Vitti, reserves specialist at Pitts Theology Library: 404.727.5535, jvitti@emory.edu
