Materials in Storage

Emory University keeps thousands of library items at an offsite storage library called the Library Service Center.

If you find an item in the Emory Library catalog that says it is available at "Library Service Center," first log in to your account, then click "Request" or "Item Request" to have the material brought to the Pitts Theology Library for your use.

Items from the Library Service Center are brought to Pitts each day, Monday through Friday. Requests made by 10:00 a.m. will usually be available by 4:00 p.m. the same day. Requests placed after 10:00 a.m. (or on weekends) will be filled the following business day. Weekend delivery is not available. You will be notified by email when a requested item is available for pick-up. You may also phone the circulation desk (404.727.4166) to inquire whether materials are available.

If you are not Emory faculty, student, or staff, you may need assistance from a librarian in placing a request. Library Service Center items can be requested in advance, so that they will be available when you arrive on campus. These items must be used in the library. Requested materials are held at the Circulation Desk for 10 days.  Please contact us in advance.
