Description: This image depicts Paul preaching in Athens before the altar to an unknown God. In an image on the wall to the left Paul escapes from the city of Damascus. In an image on the wall to the right the priest of Zeus mistakes Paul and Barnabas for Hermes and Zeus, and offers an animal sacrifice to them. In the roof is an image of Paul performing an exorcism on a slave girl who told fortunes for money. At the top is the conversion of Saul (or Paul). To the left Ananias heals Paul’s blindness. In the top-left corner Paul and Silas prevent the Philippian jailer from committing suicide, claiming that all the prisoners are still present in spite of the earthquake that opened the door. At the top to the middle-left the magician, Elymus, tries to prevent Paul from converting the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. At the top to the middle-right Paul and Barnabas go to Jerusalem for a council where the matter of the Gentile Christians is discussed. In the top-right corner Paul is bitten by a viper after being shipwrecked on the island of Malta.
