Scripture Reference:

Description: Two printers are working at the printing press; finished printed sheets are hanging on suspended drying racks. In the right background, in front of the open windows, a typesetter is setting type in front of a box with type fonts. The Dutch artist and poet Jan Luiken (1649-1712) was responsible for drawing this emblem and for creating the motto and poem that follow. Jan Luiken and/or his son Casper Luiken (1672-1708) were responsible for its etching. The attendant scripture text is Psalm 90:15-17.

Motto:
Create your happiness
From press and print.

Poem:
Press thy bosom on the word of the Lord,
So that the holy letters will be neatly
Printed into the heart,
Whereby thou mayst govern thyself,
And carry that which pleases God,
Always in thy bosom.
