Description: The printer’s device of German publisher Johann Georg Cotta (1631 – 1692) features two angels flanking an image of an overflowing fountain. The Latin inscription QUEMADMODUM DESIDERAT CERVUS AD FONTES AQUARUM ITA DESIDERAT ANIMA MEA AD TE DEUS means “in the same way that the stag is drawn unto the sources of water, so is my soul drawn unto you, God,” a verse from Psalm 42.
