Online Resources for Remote Learning

Due to the covid-19 situation, Pitts Theology Library is offering limited access to the physical collections. This includes requesting and picking up books, as well as a scan and delivery for sections of books in the physical collections for all Emory patrons.

Due to the covid-19 situation, borrowing privileges are only available for current Emory faculty, students, and staff who have been cleared to return to campus, and only by request. Information about policy changes and instructions for using the library during the pandemic can be found on our policies page.

During the period of remote learning, Pitts will be operating with limited staffing. While we are working hard, in person and remotely, to support our patrons, at times the demand on our services will be greater than our capacity. Therefore, when submitting reference questions, scan requests, and other inquiries, we ask you to have patience and that you provide as much information as possible about your requests. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Please check the Pitts Library LibGuides for a general introduction to online resources and speak to a Reference Librarian for more help!

Pitts encourages Candler students, faculty, and staff to use the many online resources available to them.

Returning Materials

All due dates for materials currently on loan from any Emory library have been extended to at least September 1, 2020.

We ask that patrons please return books coming due. If you are cleared to visit Emory's campus (see https://www.emory.edu/coronavirus/emory/return-to-campus/employees-return.html), you can return items by using the book drop outside the library. If you are not, please contact theologycirc@emory.edu for other ways of returning materials.

All fines and late fees incurred between March 11th and September 1st will be waived, but fines will accrue beginning September 1st.

Please contact Myron McGhee or Yasmine Green with inquiries.

Special Collections

The Special Collections department is currently accepting reservations, though our preference is to offer digitization as a solution. To request information about reproductions of materials, please email PittsSC@emory.edu. To make a reservation for the Reading Room, visit http://pitts.emory.edu/collections.
