Description: The printer’s device of Samuel Selfisch (monogram at base) shows the prophet Samuel anointing David King of Israel, who kneels in prayer with his attribute, the harp, nearby. The publication in which this appears lists Johannes Crato (= Johann Krafft; d. 1578) as the printer. Here it is used on the final page of a book printed by Georg Rhaw.
