Description: This image depicts Moses viewing the Promised Land, but he is not permitted to enter it. To the top-left Balaam is stopped by an angel while riding his donkey. To the top-right Balaam blesses Israel, as King Balak, the king of Moab, stands next to the seven altars he built. To the bottom-left an Israelite man named Zimri brings a Midianite woman into his tent. At the top the Israelites gather the booty from their victory over the Midianites, while just to the right Moses designated cities for the Levites and cities of refuge. At the bottom is a map showing the Israelites’ route from Egypt through the wilderness to the Promised Land. At the bottom-right the Israelites celebrate the Festival of Booths, or Tabernacles.
