Description: This image depicts a Syrian archer slaying King Ahab of Israel, in the battle at Ramoth-Gilead. At the top is the contest between the prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, with Ahab riding off in his chariot to Jezreel. In the top-right corner Obadiah hides 100 of God’s prophets in a cave and provides them food and water when Jezebel threatens to kill them. To the left King Jehoshaphat of Judah and Ahab meet in Samaria to make plans for a war against Aram, but the prophet Micaiah son of Imlah prophesies that Ahab will be killed in battle. To the right dogs lick up the blood of Ahab as his chariot is cleaned by the pools of Samaria. In the top–left corner is the marriage alliance between Jehoshaphat and Ahab. In the bottom-left corner is the destruction of the fleet of Jehoshaphat and King Ahaziah of Israel. In the bottom-right corner the prophet Elijah sends a letter to King Jehoram of Judah.
