Description: This image depicts King Xerxes seated at the banquet table with his retinue. In the top-left corner, Queen Vashti refuses to parade herself before the guests of King Xerxes and so is stripped of her position as queen. At the top Esther gains the attention of King Xerxes. In the bottom-right corner two eunuchs are hung after their plot to assassinate King Xerxes is revealed by Mordecai. In the bottom-left Haman plots the destruction of the Jews. In the top-right corner Mordecai and Esther fast before Esther goes before King Xerxes.
