Description: This image depicts Eleazar striking a war elephant from below in order to save his compatriots, though he is killed under the weight of the elephant. To the left, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the King of the Seleucid Empire, sacks the cities of Egypt. At the top Judas Maccabeus leads the Maccabean revolt. To the right the army of Judas Maccabeus pursues the army of Timotheus, and Antiochus takes to bed with grief after hearing of the success of the Maccabean revolt. At the bottom left Judas Maccabeus leads his army into battle, while to the right Jonathan and Simon take their brother, Judas, and bury him in the family mausoleum in Modin.
