Description: Jesus is arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane after Judas betrays him with a kiss. Peter draws a sword and strikes off the ear of the High Priest’s servant, Malchus, and then Jesus restores the ear (Luke 22:51). A man flees the garden, leaving his garments behind (Mark 14:52). Plates in this volume were engraved by Philippe Galle (1537-1612) and Jan Wierix (16th c.) after drawings by Gerard P. Groenning (16th c.).
