Description: Tobias and Sarah pray for God’s mercy before consummating their marriage. The flame in the center of the image produces fumes of burning fish organs, warding off a demon that has heretofore killed all of Sarah’s husbands. The engraver, Michael van der Gucht (1660–1725), has placed his signature in the lower right.
