Description: This title page image depicts Moses in a frame in the center holding the Ten Commandments. Above him there is an angel; to the left Jesus and to the right, the high priest Aaron. Beneath Moses is John 1: 17, which reads “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” Jesus holds a scroll reading John 5:46, “For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.” Painted by Philip Tideman (1657–1705) after William Goeree (1635-1711) and engraved by Gilliam van der Gouwen (1669–1713).
