Scripture Reference:

Description: This print features a mighty angel coming down from heaven wrapped in a cloud with a rainbow over his head. His face is like the sun and his legs are like pillars of fire. He holds a scroll and puts his right foot on the sea and his left on the land. He gives the scroll to John of Patmos and commands him to eat it. This and other woodcuts in this 1533 Bible are the work of the German artist, Erhard Altdorfer (d. 1561).
