Student Employment

Pitts Theology Library employs over thirty students enrolled in Emory graduate and undergraduate programs during the school year in various positions. Both Federal Work Study candidates and non-Federal Work Study recipients are eligible for hire.

Benefits

  • Student assistants learn a wide range of skills, such as cataloging new materials, maintaining the library’s book stacks, and digitizing images from Pitts’ rare books collection for the Digital Collections.
  • Student assistants at Pitts are able to gain hands-on library experience while developing skills that will carry over to their future professions. 
  • Students gain the ability to work both independently and in a team environment with shared objectives and goals.
  • Students are able to network with professionals in the academic community at Emory and beyond to enhance their professional development opportunities.
  • Students will receive periodic reviews of their performance that include constructive criticism to consider as they prepare for professional employment.
